IMPORTANCE OF PRAYER IN OUR DAILY LIFE

Prayer
Prayer

Prayer is a spiritual communication with God, it’s our divine moment when we are conversing with God.

It’s our direct address and access to God, and the moment the human soul is merging with the Divine, Jesus.

Why Is Prayer Essential In Our Life?

Prayers is that moment when we meditate to be in the presence of God. This moment gets divine as the presence of God brings divinity into this moment.

It’s like we are on earth but can easily reach the Heaven as Jesus is present in these moments of prayer.

It’s His presence that brings down the Heaven to Earth.

We reach God spiritually when in prayers, it’s the moment when we align with the creator, feeling His presence, love and acceptance, living ourselves as the creation, a source, an extension of the creator.

We being a poem recited by the super poet, Jesus.

Life is a gift from God, a life will happen with all its ups and downs and more. The giver of life, God is always there for us as we live this manual of life. We need to go to him, seeking Him always as we walk the paths that go stony and smooth.

It’s not a sign that we are weak when we in prayer ask for the Lord’s intervention, even the strongest and if the only powerful person present on earth may seem as the weakest before the powerful Lord. You may argue this, but it remains a truth of life.

The mighty and powerful beings that have lived and ruled and succeeded by earthly standards have in the end vanished and been dissolved in dust and only God can bring a being into eternity.

Praying before God is proving our trust and hope in His divinity that is eternal and without boundaries.

With prayers we will develop a relation that goes beyond description, it will feel like a father-son kind, and at moments of low companionship, feels of a friendship.

When feeling less loved, prayers will fill us with over flowing abundant love received.

Prayers will strengthen our will, wisdom and understanding as they will be received or granted to us as graces by His mercy and love.

Prayer is an important part of a Christian life. It should be the highest core of a living life for a Christian, to pray.

To be Christian means to be Christ like and to be like Christ we need to do what Christ did most and that is pray.

To pray should be a practice we as Christian ought to live, as being a Christian without prayers would be just a religion, a tag, a name we would carry, with a hollow and emptiness within.

Prayers let us unite with God, makes us know God. It is the hallmark of a relationship that was from the beginning and will be till eternity between Man and God, Creation and the Creator. Prayer is the force, a bind that keeps us always closer to God.

We may have gone wandering, we may have lost our way, we may have gone away from God, but just a moment of prayer will unite us again to God.

What Is Prayer In The Holy Bible?

“And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.

MATTHEW 21:22

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

  PHILIPPIANS 4:6-7

“Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
MARK 11:24

“Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
JEREMIAH 29:12-13

Prayer in the Holy Bible is a highly powerful word, an act, a promise that is fulfilled by God when put in prayers.

We find in the Bible, God communicating with His people through prayers, thus when we read the Holy Word of God, we are still communicating with God.

Reading the Holy Bible is also a pray. As we read the Bible, God is communicating with us through the words we read, it’s sending us messages and blessings. The stories and occurrences we find in the Bible are at times to be interpreted as our own situations, maybe modernized in today’s time but the core of suffering, hurts and the salvation remains the same.

Like once when in converse with a priest I said, the old times as lived by people in the Bible, the sins and temptations and situations were so much lesser as compared to our modern world, wherein we are surrounded by sins and temptations everywhere and in each moment that we live.

He corrected me saying, those times also there were varied sins and tempting situations as compared to today. There was jealousy, hatred, murder, adultery, prostitution and more. The sins at its basics were the same and equally worst as compared to today, so it wasn’t easy for them also. Thus the Bible is relevant as much as it was then as it is now and will be till the end of time.

Bible speaks how prayers can change to heal a situation that otherwise seemed dreadful. Numerous instances of favors and blessings received when put in prayers are mentioned in the Bible, the power of prayer.

Prayer is described in the Bible

As seeking God’s favor (Exodus 32:11),

Pouring out one’s soul to the Lord (1 Samuel 1:15),

Crying out to heaven (2 Chronicles 32:20),

Drawing near to God (Psalm 73:28, KJV), and

Kneeling before the Father (Ephesians 3:14).

Praying Everyday

When to Pray?

Bible says, “Pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17)

  • Prayer should be constant in our life.

At morning and evening, noon and night, every time.

  • When received favors’ from God, a thanksgiving prayer
  • When facing tough times
  • Feeling alone and lost in life.
  • When struggling at work and relationships.
  • When feeling hopelessness
  • Praying for our family members.
  • Before an important decisions.
  • For our lost loved ones who are no more with us, they still need our prayers.
  • Pray when facing trial and temptations.
  • In times of affliction and distress and hurt.
  • In times of favors, blessings, promotions and prosperity.

There are a million reasons to pray, you can make your own.

Set aside a time each day when you and your God are all alone in converse, a prayer.

Prayer is talking to God, it can happen anytime, anywhere.

The whole Earth is God’s footstool (Isaiah 66:1 & Matthew 5:35)

So talk to God when driving to work, when walking at the park, when at shower, sing His praise. Singing songs or praising God is also a form of prayer.

“He who sings God’s praises”, said St. Augustine, “prays twice.”

Thus Bible says, pray without ceasing, your moments and situations are blessed and healed and favored just by the name of Jesus.

Again don’t take the name of Jesus in vain but with reverence and faith, that as you take His name you invite the Lord to be with you at that very moment.

The name of Jesus is enough…

Struggling To Pray?

To pray can be a struggle to many, we need to find ways to counter rather attack this struggle. Try these…

Surrender

First comes the surrender, realize that the struggle is common or natural in our modern age.

Start with honesty, be honest to God about this struggle. Talk to Him, how you’re feeling, even if it’s the boredom of praying or further even if you doubt the Lord’s presence. Authenticity and honesty will deepen your relationship with God.

You can also seek the Holy Spirit to help you in praying, seek the grace and aid of the advocate promised to us by Jesus when He ascended into heaven.

Keep it simple

Prayer is not your scientific task if you’re an average student. Keep it cool and easy, start with simple but heartfelt words. Even a short prayer like, “Jesus, I need you” can be highly powerful.

Use Scriptures when praying

Prayer mixed with reading the Holy Bible will only bring purity and understanding in your moments of prayer. It can be just one psalm a day, read it slowly and meaningfully, it will unveil to you God’s promise and His nature of love.

Pray In Communities

Praying with others can help building you time spend in prayer, it’s like practicing for a sport each day. It builds a habit in you. It will also strengthen your faith as you see others praying diligently and hearing their testimonies of various favors bestowed by God will only muscle your faith.

Create A Routine

“We are what we repeatedly do” goes the quote

Set aside a specific time each day for prayer. You may not have all days when you are spiritually at your best but consistency will help you bring form and blissfulness of being in the Lords presence each day.

Be Patient With Yourself

As mentioned earlier you will have dry moments in your prayer life, its okay. Be patient and persistent.

God understands your struggles and is always waiting for you.

Prayer is a gift, a grace given to us by God. It’s a blessing.

In prayers we are preparing the path for our own and the salvation of our loved ones when we confess our sins and wrongdoings to God. The act of seeking redemption begins on earth in our prayer.

Prayer is a shield against temptations and sin.

We have our relation with God bonded forever when we pray. Prayer is communion with our Creator.

Prayer is central to a Christian life.

Jesus prioritized prayers.

If the Son of God prioritized His need for prayer, how much more should we?

Keep Praying…
